WRITEUP!!!
KONATSU'S HEART YEAAAAAAH! Here's the writeup!
TA-DA, THE LABELED VERSION OF THE INFAMOUS COURTYARD y'all kept ending back up in because that is how his heart works.
COURTYARD
So! The most basic division in Konatsu's heart is Topside and Bottomside, plus the Core which is inbetween. Topside is all about how Konatsu views and relates to others, while Bottomside is self-reflection and his own internal issues. The Core stuff is inbetween. (This is why it's not possible to encounter Konatsu unless you jump into a pool; he doesn't appear Topside.)
The pools are the four major urges that Konatsu tries to suppress, which is why they're underwater! They represent his libido, his violent tendencies, his need to mother everyone, and his playful dorky side. These are all things he tries not to just--act on whenever he feels like it. There are streams connecting all of them because he sometimes gets these feelings mixed up, for example, wanting to kiss someone when they need comfort, wanting to hit them playfully, etc.
It was possible to screw with this stuff but no one really did. Nii removed a stone from the Violent Lust stream and Hakuren threw one into the Violent pool, but moving one stone's not enough to do much. (It was possible to raise and lower water levels, dam streams, widen them, etc.) The stones don't really symbolize anything other than the ability to change the baselines of these emotions.
THE COURTYARD ITSELF is the courtyard he remembers practicing in as a child with his grandfather, which is why it seems both small and impressive (it was impressive to a child but small in reality), and why it's full of thorny vines (because his childhood was mostly not happy).
The fountain is the link between Topside and Bottomside, so it joins Konatsu's view of himself with his view of others. It was iced over because Antwort is cold and because of his hypocrisy--he judges himself more harshly than he does other people, will sacrifice himself but prevent others from doing the same, etc. The ice was thin because he's starting to get over this, and then Hakuren broke it entirely, which will help with that!
The doors led to Ruby (Topside version), the Black Hawks, and The Manor, which represents his childhood home. Ruby's door represents his current life so it wasn't sealed off and was more inviting. The Black Hawks represents his recent pre-Aather life so it was sealed off, but not very well, because he's unsure yet if he wants to leave it behind. The Manor was sealed off because he doesn't want to revisit his childhood and considers it very upsetting.
THAT'S ABOUT IT FOR THE COURTYARD, HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED IN IT:
+ Hakuren slightly raised his Violence level, but not enough to be noticeable
+ Hakuren broke the ice between the two halves of his heart, helping with his hypocrisy and isolation
+ Shuri tore down the vines blocking off the Manor, so he will be more open about his childhood
+ Nii widened the Violent Lust stream, but just barely
+ Jade tore down the vines from the Black Hawks, so Konatsu will be more open to that part of his past
Wheeee okay on to Ruby!
TOPSIDE RUBY
Ruby's cabin was a mess because Konatsu kind of . . . considers them a mess . . . BUT A FUNCTIONAL ONE. Also because they're a very incestuous team with everyone getting involved with everyone else, which was why Acedia's bedthings were kind of all over the place. SLEEPING WITH TEAMMATES YEAH. The reason Konatsu's things aren't here isn't because he doesn't consider himself a part of Ruby so much as he has a mental separation between himself and EVERYONE else. Wrath's stuff is everywhere, more than any other teammate, because Konatsu considers him the heart of Ruby and its leader.
BUT Yukio tidied things up some, so! He will be less inclined to think of Ruby as a mess of a team.
The kitchen is bare because Konatsu considers food to be a strong separation between himself and everyone else he knows, because no one agrees with his tastes ever, so he just doesn't associate Ruby with food at all. But there was tea laid out! The four kinds of tea represented four things that Konatsu thinks Ruby needs to improve in: relaxing, healthy living, being social, and good manners. ALL OF THE TEA GOT DRANK so he will have more faith in Ruby to do these things now without mothering them about it. Except half the matcha got spilled so. Not as much that one. Thanks Nii.
The whiteboard was JUST THERE TO PLAY WITH; it appears in both versions of Ruby because Konatsu quested for it himself but it was for the entire team, so it's both his possession and Ruby's.
Curios! Each team had one. Everyone Konatsu has an impression of in Aather was represented in the curios. ASK ME IF YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT WHAT TEAM CURIOS WERE LIKE IF THEY WEREN'T INVESTIGATED IN THE GAME. :'D
The curios are full of eggs and stuffed chicks. The eggs represent how protective Konatsu is of the chicks they go with. Chicks with no eggs he doesn't feel the need to protect; chicks outside of their eggs he will protect but trusts to protect themselves too; chicks sitting in open eggs he will shelter a little; chicks in closed eggs he will shelter a lot. I think Shurichick is the only one in a closed egg. It was possible to change this by futzing with the eggs and chicks but most people didn't. Again you can ask me about specific team curios because that part is long and I'm not gonna c/p it all BUT I WILL IN COMMENTS IF YOU WANT.
Oh, chicks on their sides were people Konatsu doesn't trust/like or has some other Issue with.
SO THE BREAKDOWN:
+ the tea was all drunk, so Konatsu will be more accepting of Ruby's habits, but will still stress over the manners thing a bit
+ Shuri left his clothing and a Bible in Ruby which uh . . . what even . . . HE WILL ASSOCIATE THESE THINGS MORE WITH HIS TEAM . . .
+ Mikage also left his clothes here, wtg
+ Mikage put the Hakuren and Mikage chicks together, so Konatsu will associate them more closely now, and may wonder if they're dating
+ Mikage put PYA! on the whiteboard making Konatsu more likely to take Burupya to Ruby's cabin
+ Asch wrote messages on the whiteboard and curios; the whiteboard message won't do anything since it was directed to the team, the curio messages will make him more open to meeting new people
+ Asch also put Mukuro's sex ed book into the Tiger's Eye curio, near the Asch chick. WAY TO GO ASCH. + 100 Asch-centric libido and possibly wanting to bang in Tiger's Eye's cabin
+ Asch also put Charity back upright next to Ruby in their curio. Charity represented Konatsu's ideal of their team unity and functionality, so Asch fixed that somewhat, and Konatsu will see them as more unified and aim more for that goal
+ Yukio tidied up Ruby, so Konatsu will see them as more functional, and wrote on the whiteboard that they want to be his friends, so he'll make more friendly overtures
+ Yukio also left medical knowledge in Ruby; this won't TEACH HIM MEDICINE, but it will give him an interest in it and an aptitude for it
+ Dera wrote on the board that Konatsu belongs in Ruby, so he'll feel more comfortable with his place on the team
+ He patted the Shuri chick, so Konatsu will be under the impression they're friendly . . .
THE BLACK HAWKS
This is where Konatsu shoves all of his memories of the Black Hawks. It's a confusing mess of bedroom, kitchen, etc. because he has memories of ALL of these things as related to his job, and he doesn't differentiate them; his life there was his entire life.
The bed is all Hyuuga-related because he has memories of Hyuuga's bedroom and is also still attracted to him. The desks were Shuri's, Hyuuga's, and his own. The kitchen WAS NOT VISITED but it was Kuroyuri's area. (It was also one of only two ways you could die in Konatsu's heart.) There wasn't much to change here; it was mostly a place to view memories, because Konatsu knows he can't change his past, but he dwells on it often. So they were all here to see!
Still:
+ Jade finished Chairman Miroku's well wishes speech and tidied up Hyuuga's bed, which will mostly help Konatsu organize his thoughts on Hyuuga more and also make him associate Jade with Hyuuga EVEN MORE
THE MANOR
This place represented Konatsu's childhood. It's very bare and sparse both because he has almost no memories of it, and because he was neglected as a child; there's nothing very nice here, though it's not threatening, just kind of desolate and sad.
The kitchen represented his Family Feelings, basically. There were various things you could do here but almost all of them involved investigating the dining table, which no one did. Mikage did put some things away in the sideboard, though! THE NOODLES WERE ON THE TABLE!
The bedroom represented his feelings of himself as a child and how he related to the world, so again it was very unfinished and lonely. The Bible was blacked out because of Konatsu's warsfeil indoctrination; the erased bits were the results of Konatsu's efforts to undo that and learn more about religion from the non-warsfeil perspective, which was why the eraser was worn and used. The photo was, of course, his feelings about his grandfather, the only family member he actually remembers.

+ Mikage put away some silverware, so Konatsu feels slightly better about the concept of "family"
+ Mikage put the photo on the nightstand, so Konatsu will think more fondly of his grandfather
+ Mikage and Shuri took the Bible out of the bedroom, so Konatsu will associate religion less with his childhood and more with his current life; however, they also moved it away from the eraser, making it harder for him to throw away warsfeil ideals. but they also took the eraser and pencil out of the drawer, lessening the effect of that
TOPSIDE'S DONE, KIDS.
THE CORE
The pools, like I said, represent Konatsu's repressed emotions. Anyone could visit the areas symbolizing these, but only people whose names were in there could meet Konatsu instead of a Kor. So, Shuri couldn't meet a Kor, because his name is in every pool; Jacen couldn't have met Konatsu, because his name wasn't in any of them. The Kor ARE NOT REALLY ASPECTS OF KONATSU. They represent temptations in 07-Ghost world--in this case, Konatsu's temptation to put everyone's name into these categories. So, it's the part of him that wants to run up to random people and nailbat them, or kiss them, or hug them. If you went into a pool and met a Kor (basically, if "Konatsu" was talking to you but on the Personae account and acting wrong and asking what you wished for), talking to it didn't affect anything or change anything, because they're not Konatsu. BRICK WALL.
If you were dumb enough to make a wish on a Kor three times, this was the other way to die in Konatsu's heart. Jacen was the only one who made a wish, and he just got the Kor seal, so! NOW HE HAS A RASH which will vanish in a day.
LUSTFUL CORE
This is the sex dungeon, basically. :'D It represents Konatsu's libido. It's represented by the tree he and Dusk tend to use for sex . . . the names in the tree are everyone Konatsu has ever thought it might be nice to kiss. So those names were:
Dusk
Jade
Natalia
Alena
Sharon
Wrath
Shuri
Dawn
Cassie
Dawn and Cassie are scratched out because Konatsu used to be attracted to them and isn't anymore. btw only Hakuren, Mikage, and Shuri could have read any of the names in any of the pools, since they were all in Barsburg. The knife was mostly there so the carvings could be fucked with but was also a FUN PHALLIC SYMBOL.
The only people who came here met the Kor, because no one Konatsu is attracted to showed up.
+ Jacen carved Verloren's seal into the tree, so uh, NOW KONATSU THINKS AYANAMI IS HOT. AWESOME.
+ he also took the knife to Antwort and used it there, so uh . . . well I'll get to that later . . .
+ Nii took the handcuffs off the tree and AS FAR AS I KNOW was still holding them when he got booted by the Kor, so he duplicated them and sent them Topside, making Konatsu more likely to . . . want to find a pair of handcuffs
VIOLENT CORE
This is Konatsu's BEATING SHIT UP TO RELIEVE STRESS happy place. The apples had a lot of names on them; this is the only section I didn't do a list for because it would be so long. Konatsu has wanted to hit a lot of people. :') But not Hakuren, which is why Hakuren met a Kor instead.
Not much happened here except:
+ Gokudera had a NERF BAT FIGHT with Konatsu, which relieved some stress, and increased Konatsu's likelihood of hitting people playfully
PLAYFUL CORE
The part of Konatsu that wants to bro around with people, be a stupid teenage boy, make friends, etc. The part that just wants to be a kid and play. The names on the balloons:

Both Yukio and Dera played with him here:
+ playing with Konatsu INCREASES HIS DERE FEELINGS FOR YOU and makes him more likely to try to initiate it with people! it happened twice here, so he will be in a playful mood for a while, and he now considers Yukio a friend
MATERNAL CORE:
The part of Konatsu that wants to care for people, mother them, make them comfortable. The names on the pillows:

Shuri and Mikage are LUCKILY BOTH IN HERE or else they would have been separated when they came in. Jacen made a deal with a Kor to get his name in here, too. A lot of people came in here and all of them assented to be mothered, drank the broth, and stayed for a while:
+ letting Konatsu mother you here increases his contentment and his likelihood of doing it in the future, but in a healthy way
+ he'll now nag Jacen about how he's doing, his health, etc.
AND THAT'S THE CORE.
BOTTOMSIDE/ANTWORT
This is the first step of the passage to the True Heart! This is Konatsu's obsessive need to protect people and sacrifice himself, and his belief that he's alone in that battle. Basically the way he tries to take everything upon himself. Soldier!Konatsu wasn't in any danger of dying, but was injured and tired, because that burden tires Konatsu a lot--still, he can do it, at the expense of his health. The soldiers were weak because he doesn't find it difficult so much as overwhelming and neverending.
From this side, the pools are reflective and represent Konatsu's feelings of lust, violence, maternity, and playfulness as he turns them inward, but nobody looked into them. (They can't be jumped into from this side, either.)
Antwort is covered in snow, but it's not snowing, because in canon the snow is associated with erasing the battle and sadness.
There were only two ways out here: eventually Konatsu would forcibly throw you back into the courtyard, or else you had to take up arms against a soldier. Basically he needed to be shown that other people can and will fight for themselves, and for him! Upon seeing that, the flow of soldiers would stop, because that was his moment of realization that the battle wasn't an endless burden after all. THIS WAS WHAT YOU HAD TO DO TO REACH THE TRUE HEART. I was worried that no one would. Yaaaaay \o/
+ Hakuren and Jacen took up arms, ending the battle
+ they also both SMACKED SOME SENSE INTO HIM!!!
+ Jacen . . . used the sex dungeon knife to fight . . . so Konatsu will kind of . . . associate war with sex, a little, and Jacen with both of them . . .
BOTTOMSIDE RUBY
The true heart! Or the start of it. This is Ruby as Konatsu applies it to himself, rather than to everyone else. It was also kind of a mess because he thinks he is . . . kind of a mess of a teammate. The items on his bed were all of his shareable memories and could be viewed, but no one went over there! The tea set had some more chamomile tea in it, but no one drank it. The curio was Konatsu's own egg and chick. The egg was broken because Konatsu forgets to protect himself/have healthy self-interest, and the chick was on its side because he doesn't think he's a good person/like himself much.
+ Hakuren fixed the egg and chick, healing Konatsu's self-image and self-preservation, to an extent
+ Jade tidied the cabin, so he will be less harsh on himself as a teammate
+ Jacen drew Konatsu and Ruby together, and told him to have more self-interest, so Konatsu will be better about that too, yay
AND THOSE WERE PRETTY MUCH THE GOALS OF THE GAME--to fix Konatsu's tendency to burden himself with others to his own detriment, which leads to him becoming a burden ON them.

This is the sex dungeon, basically. :'D It represents Konatsu's libido. It's represented by the tree he and Dusk tend to use for sex . . . the names in the tree are everyone Konatsu has ever thought it might be nice to kiss. So those names were:

Dawn and Cassie are scratched out because Konatsu used to be attracted to them and isn't anymore. btw only Hakuren, Mikage, and Shuri could have read any of the names in any of the pools, since they were all in Barsburg. The knife was mostly there so the carvings could be fucked with but was also a FUN PHALLIC SYMBOL.
The only people who came here met the Kor, because no one Konatsu is attracted to showed up.
+ Jacen carved Verloren's seal into the tree, so uh, NOW KONATSU THINKS AYANAMI IS HOT. AWESOME.
+ he also took the knife to Antwort and used it there, so uh . . . well I'll get to that later . . .
+ Nii took the handcuffs off the tree and AS FAR AS I KNOW was still holding them when he got booted by the Kor, so he duplicated them and sent them Topside, making Konatsu more likely to . . . want to find a pair of handcuffs
VIOLENT CORE
This is Konatsu's BEATING SHIT UP TO RELIEVE STRESS happy place. The apples had a lot of names on them; this is the only section I didn't do a list for because it would be so long. Konatsu has wanted to hit a lot of people. :') But not Hakuren, which is why Hakuren met a Kor instead.
Not much happened here except:
+ Gokudera had a NERF BAT FIGHT with Konatsu, which relieved some stress, and increased Konatsu's likelihood of hitting people playfully
PLAYFUL CORE
The part of Konatsu that wants to bro around with people, be a stupid teenage boy, make friends, etc. The part that just wants to be a kid and play. The names on the balloons:

+ playing with Konatsu INCREASES HIS DERE FEELINGS FOR YOU and makes him more likely to try to initiate it with people! it happened twice here, so he will be in a playful mood for a while, and he now considers Yukio a friend
MATERNAL CORE:
The part of Konatsu that wants to care for people, mother them, make them comfortable. The names on the pillows:

Shuri and Mikage are LUCKILY BOTH IN HERE or else they would have been separated when they came in. Jacen made a deal with a Kor to get his name in here, too. A lot of people came in here and all of them assented to be mothered, drank the broth, and stayed for a while:
+ letting Konatsu mother you here increases his contentment and his likelihood of doing it in the future, but in a healthy way
+ he'll now nag Jacen about how he's doing, his health, etc.
AND THAT'S THE CORE.
BOTTOMSIDE/ANTWORT
This is the first step of the passage to the True Heart! This is Konatsu's obsessive need to protect people and sacrifice himself, and his belief that he's alone in that battle. Basically the way he tries to take everything upon himself. Soldier!Konatsu wasn't in any danger of dying, but was injured and tired, because that burden tires Konatsu a lot--still, he can do it, at the expense of his health. The soldiers were weak because he doesn't find it difficult so much as overwhelming and neverending.
From this side, the pools are reflective and represent Konatsu's feelings of lust, violence, maternity, and playfulness as he turns them inward, but nobody looked into them. (They can't be jumped into from this side, either.)
Antwort is covered in snow, but it's not snowing, because in canon the snow is associated with erasing the battle and sadness.
There were only two ways out here: eventually Konatsu would forcibly throw you back into the courtyard, or else you had to take up arms against a soldier. Basically he needed to be shown that other people can and will fight for themselves, and for him! Upon seeing that, the flow of soldiers would stop, because that was his moment of realization that the battle wasn't an endless burden after all. THIS WAS WHAT YOU HAD TO DO TO REACH THE TRUE HEART. I was worried that no one would. Yaaaaay \o/
+ Hakuren and Jacen took up arms, ending the battle
+ they also both SMACKED SOME SENSE INTO HIM!!!
+ Jacen . . . used the sex dungeon knife to fight . . . so Konatsu will kind of . . . associate war with sex, a little, and Jacen with both of them . . .
BOTTOMSIDE RUBY
The true heart! Or the start of it. This is Ruby as Konatsu applies it to himself, rather than to everyone else. It was also kind of a mess because he thinks he is . . . kind of a mess of a teammate. The items on his bed were all of his shareable memories and could be viewed, but no one went over there! The tea set had some more chamomile tea in it, but no one drank it. The curio was Konatsu's own egg and chick. The egg was broken because Konatsu forgets to protect himself/have healthy self-interest, and the chick was on its side because he doesn't think he's a good person/like himself much.
+ Hakuren fixed the egg and chick, healing Konatsu's self-image and self-preservation, to an extent
+ Jade tidied the cabin, so he will be less harsh on himself as a teammate
+ Jacen drew Konatsu and Ruby together, and told him to have more self-interest, so Konatsu will be better about that too, yay
AND THOSE WERE PRETTY MUCH THE GOALS OF THE GAME--to fix Konatsu's tendency to burden himself with others to his own detriment, which leads to him becoming a burden ON them.
