Dude I don't even remember which of these he's taken IC and which he hasn't I should figure that out. I THINK THESE ARE THE ONLY TWO HE HAS TO TAKE.

Memory #23 is a sig neg la la it starts here! THEY'RE IN MIDAIR ON A HAWKZILE confronting Castor, Teito, and Frau. Konatsu intercepts Castor who intercepts HIM and then after page 24 their actual fight starts here aaand then here ergh skipping around! THEN FINALLY HERE!!!

The gist of it is that Konatsu confronts Castor and is EXTREMELY OUTMATCHED and only survives because Katsuragi steps in to take the blow. This is the only time in his life that Konatsu ever HAS been outmatched, except for with Hyuuga, so :///! It was mostly just kind of terrifying. Also he's aware that Castor is a depowered Fest and so on so he'll have knowledge now of that time he tried to murder a god and almost got murdered himself. :'D

Memory #24 IN CONTRAST IS MY FAVORITE STUPID!KONATSU TRIV NEU MEMORY from a drama CD which I will just paste down here.

SOMEONE'S BEHIIIIIND

#21 is his memory of meeting Shuri's father :'D and is right here, from that page to page 11! Basically after Antwort, Wakaba comes to check on Shuri, who introduces him to Konatsu WITH SO MUCH FANBOY DERE and Wakaba assigns Konatsu to take care of him, much to Konatsu's chagrin :'D then as he's walking away Konatsu overhears him say the thing about how PEOPLE LIKE KONATSU HAVE A USE ♥ and flips out. This is the first time we see the nailbat in the manga and the only time we see Konatsu swear UGH SHURI'S DAD IS HORRIBLE AND NOW I HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF SHURI D|

Also I just realized I left the next segment of that chapter off of my registry so yay new memory to add. Which is nice because he only has 13 left . . .

#22 IS ALSO A TRIV NEG but an angstier one, right here! That's really all we see of his interaction with his classmates but I tend to assume that's about as good as it got for him; he was picked on and teased a lot for being ~that weird stuck up quiet kid who was better than everyone else on tests~ and I figure he probably didn't have any friends and talked himself into thinking he didn't want or need them because he was TOO BUSY STUDYING :E

I forgot to ever write up #18 whoops! IN FACT I THINK I FORGOT TO HAVE HIM TAKE IT WHAT WITH ALL THE STUFF I DROPPED LAST WEEK. (Guys if I need to pick something up poke me sob. I lost so many threads. I KNOW I NEED TO PICK UP RUBY'S PARTY.)

Anyway! #19 is his SHURI BABYSITTING TRIV NEG. This is sort of a headcanon compilation; in the latest chapters Konatsu is seen basically going "oh god I am so tired of babysitting this Oak by myself." So this is just like a montage of Konatsu having to babysit Shuri. Stuff like bringing him pillows (WHICH WE SEE SHURI HAS ALL AROUND HIS DESK AT WORK LOL), harassing him to do his work properly, etc. SO FRUSTRATING FFFF. SHURI IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR THIS LET'S DO THIS THING

#20 is from a drama CD! One sec I have the translation:

Konatsu: Really, Major Hyuuga. Where did you disappear to this time?
Hyuuga: I took a little walk around the hotel with Aya. Ah, as soon as we get back to the room I see mountains of paperwork...I really don't want to see them.
Konatsu: Never mind, Major Hyuuga. I was impressed that you could work in a new environment. You were very productive today! Huh? What's in the box under these papers?
(Suitcase opens)
Hyuuga: Wow, isn't this XXX tea?!
Kuroyuri: It's pound cake! Ayanami!
Hyuuga: I love you, Aya-tan!
Ayanami: (Cold laugh) Starting tomorrow, I will work you all to death.
Everyone: Candy and the whip?!!

Except in the first translation I ever saw for this, "pound cake" was "candy" BUT WHATEVER THE POINT IS THE SAME! They're on vacation at the onsen and Ayanami spoils them with presents and then is all yandere at them about it.

This is Konatsu's first memory of really INTERACTING WITH AYANAMI, whom he already knows is Verloren, so it's going to be a bit surreal for him :'D

. . . In which he is a baby so there's no way he could have remembered this particular instance! However, CONFUSINGLY, this also comes up later in the chapter in an internal monologue, here, and that time there's an extra sentence there, which indicates that somehow he does remember this being said to him. So maybe it happened when he was a kid (like in the next panel) or more than once, I AM NOT SURE, but he definitely remembers those words. I am just going to say it happened when he was. Not an infant. MAYBE SIX OR SO.

This is just the confirmation of something he already assumes, which is that his family thinks he's cursed/an ill omen and neglected/emotionally abused him because he wasn't a warsfeil. It won't teach him anything new, it'll just hurt a lot.

From the most terrible drama CD ever.

I've mentioned this CD before and it's total stupid crack and this memory is part of it. It's about Konatsu and Hyuuga's relationship and how obsessed Konatsu is with him and his health and habits and yeah. Ruby I am so sorry you live with him . . .

In this particular part of the memory, though, Konatsu is talking about Hyuuga and Ayanami and Hyuuga's like "oho is Konatsu jealous of our relationship :)" and Konatsu flips out in that extremely tsundere NO NO NO ABSOLUTELY NOT LA LA LA I'M NOT LISTENING~ way which means "oh god yes I am ;;"

He also does it in singsong sooooo.

Oh no I'm behind on memories how can this be! Technically he hasn't taken either of these yet but he will after(/during) his thread with Mukuro, so!

MEMORY #15 (WHEN I'M 70 . . . ) // TRIVIAL NEUTRAL

This one's from a drama CD which I have no script for so no hardcore writeup! This is also not the entire CD, just one scene. What happens basically is that Konatsu is told by Hyuuga to write a speech-thing for Chairman Miroku's upcoming birthday wishing him well on behalf of the Black Hawks; the entire thing ends up a SERIES OF STUPID MISCOMMUNICATIONS and Konatsu ends up convinced that Miroku is a lot older than he is and is dying and flips the fuck out with stress over having to write this thing. IN THE SCENE WHICH IS THIS MEMORY, he's like "Oh god what do I do WHAT DO I DO well okay um well wishes um what would I want if I were that age!?" ("That Age" being like 70+.) And he comes up with "WELL OKAY I WOULD WANT . . . TO BE SURROUNDED BY GRANDCHILDREN . . . AND HAVE A LOT OF FRIENDS *___*!!!"

Of course he's stressed to the point of total insanity at this point so he does this in singsong and I wish I had the track for you guys because this is the first time we hear that Konatsu is a horrific singer.

Anyway it's interesting for him to take this after recent events because the point of it is that when Konatsu thinks about his future/end-of-life goals, he wants to be loved rather than accomplished! And settled with a family! So that kind of--sends a message to him about that kind of thing.

MEMORY #16 (THE TEN 10,000 YUUS MAN) // TRIVIAL NEGATIVE

This is the rest of the bubblewrap memory, so it starts here with Konatsu spilling the coffee into Hyuuga's lap ha ha ha and goes to the end!

This is pretty much just. An incredibly stupid happening in Konatsu's life back when he was I'm guessing 17 or so (this chapter appears as an extra in the Children volume so it's probably a flashback). READ IT IT'S HILARIOUS but the basic gist of it is that Konatsu can be really gullible sometimes and has a tendency to beat himself up when he makes mistakes (which he. has already figured out in Aather is one of his major personality traits). Also this is the only time in the manga we see him actually strike someone with the nailbat as opposed to just wanting to or hitting inanimate objects with it.

But anyway! Quick and easy writeup because I only need to link the Wiki article on this! Which is right here.

Basically he remembers this page; it fills in the details of his world's mythology which he was missing before. HOWEVER I had to alter the memory some from his registry! Originally this was called "hearing the legend of Verloren and the Seven Ghosts as a child, from his grandfather." But I was discussing this with Shuri and Hakuren a while ago and what I'm going to do is change this to "hearing the legends in school," with the memory of his grandfather's story being a different, locked memory. The reasoning behind this is that I assume warsfeil children hear a more sympathetic to Verloren version of this story--but since we don't know yet in canon what actually DID happen to Eve and Verloren, we don't know what the more sympathetic version IS (because it's implied that maybe Verloren didn't really fuck up as much as he was accused of).

So, the Warsfeil Version is going back on his registry and being locked, and the Standard Version is what he remembers, and what's linked in that wiki. \o/

Effects on him are not much, but mostly, he now knows what Pandora's Box IS, and since he remembers that's what the Black Hawks are trying to find, he has a better idea of wtf they've been doing and why (spoilers: nothing good).

This is hilarious because it's a sig pos that BECOMES A SIG NEG IN AATHER whups :'D

It's referring to like two panels here! This doesn't include his family saying they have no use for him, just the part starting with his grandfather being the only one who would come talk to him, and then it's just the rest of that page.

I felt a little weird making a headcanon memory a sig neg BUT when this occurred to me, I realized it was pretty much . . . a given that it had happened to him at some point in the past and that it fucked with him a lot at the time SO W/E W/E!

WOO HOO MEMORY ADAPTED FROM A DRAMA CD

So like Shuri mentioned in a write-up 07-Ghost has drama CDs, some of which are canon (or could be) and some of which are--probably too cracky to be real canon. This one is adapted from one of the latter. So it's not the exact incident in that CD but it's based on it in a way that's less omg what is this ha ha ha.

Basically it was an ~ordinary day~ in Konatsu's begleiter life which involved a lot of harassing Hyuuga as he usually does--to get to work on time, to finish his paperwork, to drink this tea, sign that document, put down that takeaway menu, take a break now you look stressed but only for ten minutes or you'll get in trouble with Ayanami-sama, Major! now eat this, you don't get enough vitamins, you've been sleeping badly--

And then he realized ~Ah, he really needs me, no one else could do my job, because no one knows Major Hyuuga like I do!! ♥~

. . . Basically this is going to make him sad and unsure but HE WILL HUG/TALK IT OUT OR SOMETHING. It's not going to coma him (wtg Ruby) or lead to permanent emo and the overall message Hyuuga imparts to him in that fight was something he needed to hear right about now anyway. But the comment about his family and the knowledge of how he was when he was younger are going to bother him a lot.

So like I said at the end of the essay-thing, A DOUBLE WRITEUP which I probably will still not even have to cut because lol.

The memory he got back from Madame White's game was "driving nails into a wooden bat" WHICH WAS PRETTY MUCH A JOKE MEMORY; when I was doing his registry someone (I forget who, probably Sharon or Shuri) suggested it to me and I was like, ha ha, yesssss. So I put it in there. There's no canon scene for this, just, we see that he carries around a nailbat and he must have gotten it somewhere!

Then the bonus memory! Which is cool because Shuri got a memory of Konatsu, and it was shareable, and it was also something I'd forgotten to put on his registry. So it was like two for one. Shuri's writeup of it is here (second one)! Just go look at that it's easier.

That's about it :'D But yeah this is Konatsu's first glimpse into what his life is--actually like back home and he's really confused.

OH YEAH one side note I keep meaning to mention: I'm pretty sure I've had Konatsu switch in threads between Major and Lieutenant Commander for Hyuuga a few times. This is because they're the same word in Japanese and it can be translated either way! Lieutenant Commander is the Naval equivalent of the Army's Major. So it's the same rank, just a different system. I often use Major in threads because I'm too lazy to type out Lieutenant Commander and also more people are familiar with the Major rank. But I switch back and forth sometimes, whups.

Another note: begleiters don't get ranks in canon, so we don't know what Konatsu's technical ranking is, or if he even has one. I'm not even sure if he'd be considered an officer or what \o/

This is actually the rest of the memory he started with! The context of the "Bishop's robes and sunglasses don't match" thing. Note that Konatsu DOESN'T DO ANYTHING in this memory but I'm assuming he witnessed it/at least heard it, because he--had to be there to catch Hyuuga when he jumped out the window, and he would have known what was going on beforehand. So this memory comes with the knowledge of this scene that he is not in until the last panel YAY.

Oh this also means I can unlock the Verloren mythology memory WOO HOO.

YAY THIRD MEMORY this one pretty much doesn't even require a writeup, ha ha.

There's an omake which I don't have on me at the moment which basically just goes, Kuroyuri makes food for all of the Black Hawks to eat, they eat it, EVERYONE BUT KONATSU PASSES OUT, and Konatsu sits there and is like "It's delicious :DDD" There's also a drama CD where he and Kuroyuri are eating chocolate-covered seaweed (pretty sure it was pickled too but I don't know Japanese, sob). Konatsu HAS ALREADY SORT OF DISCOVERED THIS ABOUT HIMSELF IN AATHER but he has a very broken sense of taste and can stomach pretty much anything (ftr, Kuroyuri has NO sense of taste due to Backstory).

OH WAIT WIKIPEDIA SAVES ME:

In volume 2's omake, Kuroyuri cooked sashimi with strawberry jam, eggs with chocolate and a bluish food, which causes the Black Hawks members (except Konatsu) to faint after they have eaten it.

So. Yeah.

The memory he got back isn't either of those specific memories, but is more like headcanon based on them; I'm sure they've eaten together many times since they're coworkers/friends (Konatsu seems decently close to hir in their downtime) and will both eat these awful things. So the memory he got back was just a nice moment of the two of them having lunch together, BEIN' BROS, eating . . . atrocities such as listed above.

What He Learns:

* the kind of food he likes, which he was already figuring out (he dips like, everything in that horrible tofu stuff now)
* I have a team member at home who is a cute friend and a good cook! I have friends! Yay! (KUROYURI, BTW)
* . . . Not so sure if this friend is male or female! Huh! (THIS IS CANON well omake canon, but yeah, none of them know)

What Konatsu learns from this:

* he was a soldier, and an extremely capable one, with incredible sword skills.
* the man from his previous memory is named Hyuuga, and Konatsu is dedicated to him.
* the existence of Shuri and his personality, though not his name.
* the experience of war and killing, and being in command of inferiors; his own ruthlessness in battle.
* a deep respect for the dead, even those who are enemies.
* he calls Shuri a heretic, and combined with the fact that Hyuuga was dressed as a clergyman in his last memory, he now is pretty sure he was fighting a Holy War of some sort/was a member of the Church in this world. (HILARIOUSLY INCORRECT)

. . . I really should like, essay on his entire first day and his team and stuff but the basic gist is that Konatsu was already beginning to develop ideas about himself and what kind of person he was, and this memory pretty much strongly reinforces all of them, so. \:D/

Okay people like rambling about their characters' memories as they come back so SO WILL I, this will be handy.

Unfortunately I chose to give Konatsu a snip of memory that only lasts about two seconds, so there's not much to say! Here's how he described it to Mukuro:

Yes, I . . . we were flying. We were in the air, sitting down, and he was behind me, and I turned to him, and I said--Lieutenant Commander, the sunglasses don't match the bishop's robes . . . that's all.

The page in question is here! Notice that Konatsu has SO LITTLE OF THIS MEMORY that he didn't hear Hyuuga thank him/say his name.

WHAT HE REMEMBERS BASED ON THIS:

* he was wearing a black uniform, while Hyuuga was in clergy robes.
* he was presumably in the military, since he was wearing said uniform and referred to Hyuuga as Lt. Commander.
* he was piloting some sort of flying machine, though he doesn't remember how or even what kind of machine it was.
* a vague feeling that Hyuuga is someone important to him, and the sense that Hyuuga is his superior, since Hyuuga is older and was referred to by rank.

However, he has no idea why Hyuuga was dressed that way; he doesn't know whether it was the robes or the sunglasses that were the ~strange addition~ to his wardrobe. Maybe they're part of a religious military! Hyuuga is obviously in the military, but maybe he's also clergy! Or maybe it was some sort of weird costume! Or who even knows! (He just knows it did look pretty stupid.)

But he knows he was in the military, and he's kind of clinging to that as his only indication of who he is and what kind of life he lived. This coupled with his natural inclination to be polite and please people are why he refers to everyone as Sir, Miss, etc. so far. It's the only inkling of himself that he has.

I will probably add the full explanation of this memory to his bank so that he can realize later what Hyuuga had just done and have Feelings, ha ha. That reminds me I need to add his world info too so he can remember someday what the hell he's serving.
